Frequently asked Questions - FAQ's

1. I’m just a beginner/Intermediate kayaker, will I be o.k. on the River?
  It is not a problem at all, the river is great for all levels, even in spring time when the river is higher, there are trips available for beginners and intermediate. We do recommend you get a guide to help get you settled and show you around the river.
2. Should I get introductory guiding on arrival?
  We highly recommend this, regardless of your ability. There are many rivers and sections, and there are many places you do not wish to end up in.
3. What airline is best to travel with?
  All the airlines listed in the list of low cost flights to Spain have cheap flights. More information can be found by e-mailing info@paddleinspain.com
4. Where is the best place to stay?
  We highly recommend all the accommodation listed. If you are a group the best option is the apartments. It is the cheapest option to stay.
5. What is the best season for the river?
  The river runs from 15th march till 15th October with a warranted level from the dump. The highest level is in spring time when you will paddle in a big volume river. In summer time you will find plenty of spots to play.
6. What is the food like?
  That’s the one of the best parts of you trip, you will find plenty of restaurants around with really nice food and incredible prices. Come and try our typical Spanish food !
7. Are there good medical facilities close by?
  Yes. We have an Hospital in TREMP 30km from SORT. Also in Sort, Llavorsi and Esterri d’Aneu there are medical centers.
8. Are there good phone and Internet connections?
  Yes, the mobile connections and landlines are superb, and making calls or SMS Internationally is extremely easy. You also have Internet broadband in the accommodation and in some Internet cafes.
9. Do you have kayaks for rent?
  Yes as you can see in the web we have more than 50 kayaks to rent from DAGGER, PYRANHA, ROBSON and ROTOMOD. view available kayaks here
10. Are there other rivers in the region to paddle?
  YES. And at45 min. driving you have the Olimpic slalom course in La Seu d’Urgell, where the Olimpic games where held in 1992
